Friday Pilots Club have announced a run of UK tour dates opening with a Manchester gig at the Deaf Institute.

The Manchester gig is one of four UK dates they have announced in support of their debut album Nowhere which lands in May.

Nowhere marks the follow up to the band’s 2022 EP I LOVE YOU, ROBOT SUPERSTAR! which brought a huge US tour and an appearance at Lollapalooza last summer.

Now, Friday Pilots Club’s debut 12-track album Nowhere is due for release shortly.  The band previously shared a taste of the album in the dance floor-ready Vampire Disco.

Formed in 2017 as a duo of vocalist Caleb Hiltunen and bassist Drew Polivick, the Chicago-based combo has grown in recent years to include guitarists Sean Burke and James Kourafas and drummer Eric Doar.  Now on Nowhere, the band combine their varied tastes.  As Drew Polivick explains, “For me, that’s what I’m most proud of.  We used to be a two-piece, and then we were a two-piece with these three guys. They started writing with us and playing on the songs, but it still didn’t quite feel like a band. We finally feel like this album is an amalgamation of what all of us like and what all of us believe in.

“It has been a tough road with a lot of sacrifice,” he added of the period they felt creatively limited whilst signed to a major-label deal, “but I think we did a damned good job navigating it.”

Friday Pilots Club will release their debut album Nowhere on 9 May 2024.
