The high energy Bouncing Cats and Boom Boom Pups is coming to Manchester’s Z-Arts on 19 November.  The performance performance features spoken-word artist Maxwell Golden and graffiti artist Mr Dane, who together transport children of all ages to the colourful AnimaLand Set within a purpose-built graffiti installation, an original children’s book is brought to life and interwoven with freestyle hip-hop improvisation.

Featuring beatbox, rap and graffiti, The Bouncing Cats and Boom Boom Pups need your help as they navigate AnimaLand so audience beatboxing and participation is required!

Maxwell Golden is a new breed of theatre-maker working across adult and children’s theatre, experimenting with the breadth of Hip Hop artistry. His work includes his solo Edinburgh Fringe show Countryboy’s Struggle in which he played 40 characters, and he’s a Slam Poet champion with abundant freestyle rap skills. He’s worked with the Southbank Centre, Sadlers Wells, Lyrix Organix, Riz Ahmed, Jonzi D, Ed Sheeran, Bashy, Abandoman and Nitin Sawhney.

Mr Dane’s artistic career started on the streets of London with a formal training in graffiti writing culture. Since those early days his artistic language has expanded to include design, sculpture and illustration. He has been come well known for landmark exterior wall paintings ad public art pieces. He has been resident artist at Popin’ Pete’s Pop Shop and Turkey’s Sunsplash Festival as well as being the official graf artist at Breakin’ Convention and transforming the foyer of Sadler’s Wells for Sampled.

Artstrust Productions is a centre for ideas and innovation in contemporary dance and education situated in Greenwich. Since 2006 Artstrust has created an environment where ideas, careers, creative partnerships and diversity of contemporary dance practice can survive and flourish. Artstrust Productions works locally, nationally and internationally to identify, develop and present breakthrough independent dancers and choreographers and provide a hub where independent artists can connect to a professional, creative and interactive dance network in which they can edify their work. As well as Bouncing Cats and Boom Boom Pups, Artstrust Productions are also touring The Magic Paintbrush.
