Liverpool/Nottingham rockers Blondes will open their UK tour at Manchester’s The Castle in support of six-track EP In Separation.
The band revealed the EP over the summer as the follow up to their 2021 release Out The Neighbourhood EP.
The new EP has been produced in parts by Rich Turvey and Anthon Genn as finds them drawing on experiences of growing in unusual times. Speaking about the EP, the band said, ” In Separation is a collection of songs written and recorded over the past two years. It’s a project that explores the ways in which we become disconnected from one another, taking you on a journey through separation to reconciliation. It speaks to the ways we live with, and without, each other. We feel it reflects more of the breadth of our song writing than our first project, with us having matured a little both personally and musically since Coming Of Age and our Out The Neighbourhood EP.”
Blondes formed at University at the end of 2017 before a breakthrough moment in 2019, completing a song that guitarist Alex Davison had started several years earlier and ultimately became Coming of Age. The track became a viral sensation via TikTok in 2020 with thousands of videos featuring the song across the platform, racking up millions of views, and inspiring a TikTok trend. The sudden influx of attention ultimately brought about a deal with C3 Records.
BLONDES are: Will Potter – vocals | Alex Davison – guitar | Daniel Stroud – drums | David Annis – bass
