Angelica Garcia has revealed a new video for Juanita, inspired by Brooklyn and exploring intersecting American-LatinX identity.

The first seeds of Juanita were set in 2020 when the artist was sitting in front of a self-constructed alter investigating her ancestry to understand her present.  The track was originally accompanied by a video directed by  the award-winning documentary filmmaker Sonia Malfa.  It has now been given a new lease of life with the additional video.

To co-incide with the release of the Brooklyn version of the video, Angelica Garcia has confirmed headline shows in Paris and Brussels fitting in around an appearance at The Great Escape Festival and a UK run of headline dates.  As part of the UK run, Angelica Garcia will headline at Manchester’s The Castle in June.

Produced by Chicano Batman’s Carlos Arevalo, Juanita, and Angelica Garcia’s Partisan Records debut, Y Grito and El Que, marked her first music sung entirely in Spanish, her native language, the one in which she learned to sing rancheras with her family as a child.

When does Angelica Garcia headline at Manchester’s The Castle?
