Thursday 11 September:

Bridgewater Hall – The Halle and Kinshasa Symphony and Choir. The Halle is set to host the Kinshasa Symphony and Choir as they unite and perform pieces such as Shostakovich’s Festive Overture, a selection of Congolese and Western Choral items and Beethoven’s Finale from Symphony No. 9.  Armand Diangienda and Jamie Phillips conduct. Tickets £12 adults / £6 children.  7.30pm

 

Friday 12 September:

Bridgewater Hall – Bridie Jackson & The Arbour.  A free lunchtime concert as the City Music Foundation Award winners perform their harmony-led, string supported blend of blues, jazz, baroque and gospel.  Free. 12.30pm.

 

Saturday 13 September:

Bridgewater Hall – The Great Northern Brass Arts Festival.  The festival features a number of brass bands and compositions with three day time concerts and an evening gala concert with leading bands such as The Black Dyke Band and Foden’s Band.  Tickets to individual concerts from £11 with full day tickets from £31. First concert commences at noon.
