MediaCityUK. The BBC Philharmonic presents an evening of Schubert with Symphony No 6 in C major; Einsamkeit; and Symphony No 5 in B flat major. The orchestra will be conducted by Juanjo Mena and will feature Lucy Hall (soprano). 7.25pm. Free but tickets required.

 

Friday 11 July

Bridgewater Hall. The Aomori Quartet presents ‘A Little Bite Music’. A free lunchtime concert in the Brigewater Hall’s Stalls Foyer featuring graduates of the RNCM who have formed the Aomori Quartet and will perform a concert including Bach’s Art of Fugue and Hadyn’s Opus 20 in A Major. 12.30pm. Free. No ticket required.

Bridgewater Hall. Two tours are available – An Organ Tour at 12.30 which will provide a short tour of the building and an opportunity to climb behind the 5,500 pipe organ (12.30pm, £5); and a guided tour of the Hall including the undercroft and areas not usually open to the public (3.00pm, £5).

 

Saturday 12 July

Bridgewater Hall. The Halle presents The Lark Ascending: An Evening of English Classics. Jamie Phillips conducts and Lyn Fletcher features on violin as English music takes centre stage. Pieces such as Vaughan Williams’ The Lark Ascending, Britten’s Peter Grimes: Storm; Elgar’s Enigma Variations and more will be performed. 7.30pm. Tickets from £16.
