The usual summer slowdown is in full effect in Manchester as far as classical music is concerned! So just one highlight this week – ok it’s not quite classical music but it is at one of Manchester’s classical institutions.
Thursday 7 August:
Chetham’s School of Music – Japanese Gardens: A Celebration. Coinciding with Manchester’s Dig The City gardening festival, Chetham’s School of Music is featuring an evening of culture and Japanese Gardens. There will be an exclusive opportunity to see Japanese prints and books from the Library’s collection with a talk on the Gardens of Kyoto by Sean Harkin, the National Trust’s Gardener-in-Residence for Manchester. 6.00pm. £5 – booking recommended.
