It’s all about the jazz this week!

 

Monday 21 July:

Thwaites Festival Pavilion (Albert Square): Zoe Gilby Quartet.  One of Newcastle’s leading jazz vocalists performs at the Festival Pavilion in a free concert.  5.00pm.  Free

 

Tuesday 22 July:

Royal Northern School of Music: RNCM/mjf introduces: Aaron Wood Quartet.  In conjunction with Manchester Jazz Festival 2014, a series of free gigs at the RNCM sees Aaron Wood Quartet performing.  6.30pm.  Free

Thwaites Festival Pavilion (Albert Square): Namvula.  Namvula Rennie performs her blend of Zambian folk, with her Scottish roots, African beats and Latin and jazz.  8.00pm.  £5.

 

Wednesday 23 July:

Royal Northern School of Music: Another free jazz gig in association with Manchester Jazz Festival this time sees Twisted Tubes perform.  6.30pm.  Free.

Royal Northern School of Music: The Bad Plus preview new material from their forthcoming album.  Featuring Ethan Iverson (piano), Reid Anderson (double bass) and Davig King (drums).  8.00pm.  £19.50.

 

Thursday 24 July:

Royal Northern School of Music: This free concert sees RNCM students move through a repertoire of jazz music. 6.30pm.  Free.
