Teen Jesus and the Jean Teasers have released their debut album I Love You ahead of a run of UK tour dates supporting The Vaccines.
The band will support The Vaccines at their Manchester gig at Manchester Academy in February.
Debut album I Love You features Teen Jesus and the Jean Teasers’ previously release singles Salt, I Used To Be Fun, Never Saw It Coming and Lights Out. The album features 12 tours with the band’s four distinct personalities at its core. Each member has taken lead song writing duties at varying points in the record on which they worked with produced Oscar Dawson.
Speaking about writing and recording the album, guitarist Scarlett McKahey explained, “Every time one of us would get a little bit antsy, we’d have to be like, “It’s okay! It’s fine! Being non-males in the industry, and because we’re all quite young as well, we all feel the need to prove ourselves a lot. In other recording sessions, everyone we have recorded with has been amazing…if I didn’t get something in the first take, I’d be embarrassed, because I felt like I needed to prove that I deserved a spot in this industry. This time, we had to totally trust the process and know that it’s not a reflection on you if you don’t get it done.”
Teen Jesus and the Jean Teasers’ debut EP Pretty Good For A Girl Band scooped awards, hit number 55 on the triple j Hottest 100 and received praise across the media world.
