Orbital have announced a UK tour including a Manchester gig at the Albert Hall.  The gig in Manchester is one of nine UK dates they have confirmed.

The announcement comes ahead of the band’s new album Optical Delusion which is due out on 17 February.

Optical Delusion features the lead single Dirty Rat with Sleaford Mods and the freshly released Ringa Ringa (The Old Pandemic Folk Song) featuring The Mediaeval Baebes.  The album marks Orbital’s tenth studio album and digs in to the psyche of an increasingly surreal and disordered world.  Optical Delusion was planned partly during lockdown and then fully recorded in the aftermath.

The new album is the latest in a burst of renewed post-pandemic creativity for Orbital.  Earlier this year an Orbital thirtieth anniversary package 30 Something – featuring reinterpretations of Chime, Satan, Belfast and more by fans ranging from Jon Hopkins to ANNA to David Holmes, plus studio versions of Orbital live favourites – reintroduced Paul and Phil Hartnoll to a worldwide fanbase.
