HOME Manchester has revealed details of its 22/23 Theatre Season featuring a range of co-productions, premieres, visiting companies and returning artists.

The new co-produced season is set to celebrate the world of today, exploring identity, family, belonging, migration and home. The programme includes dance, drama, music, comedy, cabaret and puppetry with artists and companies including Quarantine, Gecko, ETT, Boy Blue, Scottee, Little Angel Theatre, Bourgeois & Maurice and Box of Tricks.

Quarantine will open the new season with their durational piece 12 Last Songs which runs at HOME Manchester’s Gallery from midday to midnight on 24 September. The production looks to explore our relationships to work and features Manchester-based workers performing paid shifts to create a portrait of society throughout the day in a live exhibition.

Gecko will return to HOME Manchester to open Theatre 1 on 27 September with their premiere of Kin. Boy Blue bring Blak Whyte Gray back to Manchester from 20 – 22 Oct. This contemporary dance piece reflects themes of identity, oppression and transcendence. Theatre 1 will also feature a co-production between HOME, ETT and The Yard of The Cherry Orchard, an adaptation of Chekhov’s final work; whilst Manchester based Scottee returns for a one-night performance of Class, a show about what it is to be embarrassed of who you are; and cult cabaret superstars Bourgeois & Maurice return with Pleasure Seekers as the duo party their way to ultimate happiness.

Theatre 2 will open with Dan Daw Creative Projects’ The Dan Daw Show about care, intimacy and resilience; Little Angel Theatre bring family show There’s a Rang-Tan in my Bedroom and Other Stories from 23 December featuring a mix of puppetry and music; whilst Manchester based Milke Presents put on Marty and the Party for all under5s. Box of Tricks return to HOME Manchester with the premiere of Too Much World at One; and Yursa Warsama closes the season with Of all the Beautiful Things in the World, inspired by Federico Lorca’s play The House of Bernada Alba.

When does booking open for HOME Manchester’s 2022/2023 theatre season?

Booking for HOME Manchester’s 2022/2023 theatre season opens for HOME Friends on 24 June, HOME Members on 27 June and general date from Tuesday 28 June. There will also be an exclusive Early Bird 15% discount for all full-price tickets purchased before 31 July.
