Boy George and Culture Club have announced a UK and Ireland tour including a Manchester gig at Co-Op Live.
The Manchester gig is one of 10 UK and Ireland dates they have announced. They will also headline at Liverpool’s M&S Bank Arena. The tour opens in Dublin on 3 December 2024.
The tour will celebrate Culture Club’s first two monumental albums, Kissing to Be Clever and Colour by Numbers. The albums spawned the hits Do you Really Want To Hurt Me, Karma Chameleon, Time (Clock of the Heart) and Church of the Poison Mind. They will also be playing tracks from their catalogue up to their current releases.
Kissing to Be Clever launched Culture Club to international stardom. The chart-topping 1982 debut was nominated for a Grammy and established their signature sound.
They returned with 1983’s Colour by Numbers which scooped multiple awards and sold more than 10 million copies worldwide. The album features their biggest hit to date Karma Chameleon.
Speaking about plans for the tour, Boy George said, “I am calling this ‘The Zero Arguments Tour’ because we are performing our first two albums ‘Kissing To Be Clever’ and ‘Colour By Numbers’ exactly as they were made and in exact order. I love the idea of this because some of these songs are fan favourites and have never been performed. I think it will be really special for the fans.”
Synth-pop legends Tony Hadley and Heaven 17 will join Culture Club on the tour. Tony Hadley will perform tracks to commemorate the two classic albums True and Parade, whilst Heaven 17 will perform tracks from their first two renowned albums Penthouse and Pavement and The Luxury Gap.
