Causier has shared his new single So Far which features Good As Gold Records labelmate Erin LeCount.
The track finds Causier in dream, laidback bedroom pop mode as he shares two different perspectives on a casual relationship which could become more if they face their vulnerabilities.
Causier’s half-spoken topline looks at taking the connection to the next level; whilst Erin LeCount’s soothing vocals open up about having to quit playing games if their relationship is to work and risk fresh heartbreak.
So Far was written by Amil Raja, Causier, Erin LeCount, Scottie Thompson and Thomas McMinn with production from RJ and Huna.
Speaking about the track, Erin LeCount said, “So Far is a song about the realisation that young love is finite. Each relationship will be different, but they all start and end in similar ways. Mainly, with a conversation. The lyrics are the dialogue of a a couple once infatuated but now dysfunctional. Tired of their relationship the couple realise they must stop playing games, “rip the bandage off” and part ways”.
Whilst Causier added, “So Far was written when reflecting on the similarities and differences between relationships in my life. Erin wrote her verse in the studio with myself and Amil in Shadwell. Her lyrics are response to mine from the perspective of the other half of a dysfunctional couple”.
The track is accompanied by a video featuring shadowed shots, loneliness contrasted with late summer sun on the beach and the hope of a bright future. The video was directed by Milan Kroschewski.
