Bad With Phones has shared his new single drive. which features on upcoming debt album CRASH.
Bad With Phones will release CRASH on 12 July.
New single drive. draws from synth-pop, indie and electro featuring electric guitars and synth alongside a dancefloor vibe. The accompanying artwork features a jeep, destroyed, on a volcanic landscape, a nod to the real-life car crash which he walked away from unscathed.
Speaking about his new single, drive., Bad With Phones (aka Manny) said, “Ever felt like you wanted to own the karaoke booth you and your friends rented out and sing something passionate to them? Then this ballad is for you. Drive. Is a romantic song about trying to be romantic but come off a bit crazy and delusional in the pursuit of love. Love is the law under will and sometimes our desire for something can push us to a place of undermining love. I wrote this track in Berlin with my friend Cassie. Berlin is a place that inspires my songwriting and art. The visuals are a representation of the real crash I had, but it’s also a metaphor for choosing love through the good and the bad.”
Ten track Crash marks Bad With Phones’ debut full lengther follow his previous debut EP Bang Bang Chicken (2018), mixtape Marinade (2021) and second EP Living & Surfing & Remixing (2022). It was after a string of releases in 2022 that he flew to Lanzarote with a girlfriend for a break, but experienced a near-death experience in a hired jeep.
The album features the previously shared songs DennisRodman and Don’t Talk To Me which landed on BBC Radio 6.
