Manchester’s Science and Industry Museum has a host of events scheduled to inspire the engineers of the future this Easter.

For two weeks the museum will put on a programme of engineering-inspired family activities.

From computer coding to developing sports equipment and constructing buildings, visitors will discover all the ways that engineering impacts the world. Young visitors can also become chemical engineers during a workshop where they make their own squidgy soap (could come in useful!), or put their construction skills to practise when they take on a building challenge.

They can also hear about the achievements of three of Manchester’s finest engineers during the museum’s live and interactive Science Showdown, and working machinery from an original textiles mill will demonstrate how engineering ideas changed the world.

Families with children aged four and under can also enjoy activities specifically designed to spark creativity in young minds. Free Construction Packs will be on offer for youngsters to take round the museum and a new Makaton-friendly engineering adventure will be available.
