HOME Manchester is celebrating International Women’s Day with a series of film screenings, gallery tours, workshops and theatre shows.

Across the weekend, HOME Manchester is offering a tour of the Manchester Open Exhibition, a workshop on production and beat-making, short films from contemporary Spanish female filmmakers, the UK premiere of Sabrina Blanco’s first film, and the feminist production of Little Wimmin.

As part of the ¡Viva! Film Festival there will be a specially curated shorts programme, Mujeres, featuring five short films made by contemporary Spanish female filmmakers curated by the Edinburgh-based Spanish film experts CinemaAttic.  There are also ¡Viva! films by two more female directors, Peruvian Melina León (Canción sin nombre) and Argentinian Sabrina Blanco (La Botera).

London-based Dutch producer, writer, multi-instrumentalist and engineer Gabi GG Stock will be running the women in music workshop.
