W.A.S.P. have announced a run of UK tour dates including a gig at O2 Victoria Warehouse, Manchester. The Manchester gig is one of six dates they have confirmed.

The legendary Los Angeles metal band will bring their Album ONE Alive! tour to Manchester as part of a special series celebrating the 40th anniversary of their self-titled debut album. For the first time in four decades, W.A.S.P. will perform the album in full, alongside other classics from their extensive catalogue.

Led by vocalist Blackie Lawless, W.A.S.P. formed in 1982 and quickly became infamous for their shock-rock style and provocative lyrics which provoked strong reactions from religious organisations, local city councils, parliaments and even the Washington DC Senate.  Lawless has described the tour as a tribute to the album that started their journey, saying, “This is the tour that showcases the album that started the long, long undying bond between the band and all the fans in your countries where all our international success first began 40 years ago.  It was an angry record made by an angry band. It was a record that not only reflected the attitude of the band members who made it, but also a record that reflected its time.”

He continues, “This tour showcases for the first time, that landmark first album, played in its entirety, from top to bottom, most likely never to be repeated ever again. So be there and see these Winged Assassins, and witness this once in a lifetime event.”

Alongside Lawless, the band’s line-up includes long-serving members Mike Duda on bass and Doug Blair on lead guitar, as well as long-time drummer Aquiles Priester.
