Tom Vek will headline at Manchester’s The Bread Shed in support of the 10 year anniversary deluxe version of Luck.
The deluxe version of the album landed a few weeks back featuring five never-before-heard tracks from the Luck era.
Tom Vek originally burst on to the scene with 2005’s debut We Have Sound, returning six years later with Leisure Seizure and then the angry, existential Luck in 2014. Luck originally featured the single Sherman (Animals In The Jungle), Broke and Pushing Your Luck. The album helped Tom Vek to pick up a wave of US radio airplay and huge praise.
Amongst the new tracks on the deluxe version of the album is the single Your Future Self. At the time the original version of Luck was recorded, Your Future Self was unfinished. The completed version ultimately featured synth-strings and a drum-machine with the artist never afraid to embrace music technology and try new soundscapes.
The album has landed after the release of his guitar-based Confirm Yourself EP earlier this year and his fourth album New Symbols which landed in 2020 which saw him segue into the avant-garde.
The current tour marks the most extensive run of UK shows Tom Vek has undertaken since the release of the original Luck. Amongst the dates is an appearance at Huw Stephens SWN festival in Cardiff and the Manchester gig.
