Colorado trio The Velveteers have shared their new single Bound In Leather ahead of the release of their upcoming album A Million Knives.

The trio featuring frontwoman Demi Demitro and dual drummers Baby Pottersmith and Jonny Fig have previously shared album tracks On And On and Suck The Cherry.

Bound In Leather finds The Velveteers looking at the feeling of being trapped.  “To me, ‘Bound In Leather’ feels like looking through a kaleidoscope,” says Demitro. “It’s a song about feeling bound in your skin, the chorus in part being inspired by a type of dysphoria. Feeling trapped by your own skin and wishing you weren’t bound by its limitations here on earth. It also has many themes of feeling guarded and needing someone to prove their trust to you, ’cause they aren’t going to win it over so easily.”

The Velveteers wrote “Bound In Leather” with Greg Cartwright and seven-time Grammy winner Dan Auerbach in Nashville. “When we started coming up with the lyrics, I was singing and Dan kept telling me to sing higher and higher. Singing falsetto is something I don’t normally do but it just felt really right for the song,” Demitro explains.

The Velveteers will release A Million Knives on 14 February 2025.  The album marks the follow up to their 2021 debut album Nightmare Daydream.
