The Mysterines will release their second album Afraid of Tomorrows, tomorrow.  The album is the follow up to their Top 10 Reeling.

The Merseyside band have previewed the album through the lead single Stray as well as Sink Ya Teeth and The Last Dance.

Afraid of Tomorrows lands as the band bring their record store tour across the UK to a close.  The tour includes an appearance at Manchester’s HMV next week.

The album promises a deep dive in to The Mysterines’ psyche, reflecting their growth and changes since Reeling landed.  Grammy Award winning John Congleton took on production duties.

As The Mysterines’ Lia Metcalfe says of the album, “Afraid of Tomorrows is a mirror where you find you’re nothing more than a formless being, one made from celestial constellations – of traumas, of the old and new, mistakes, addiction, fear and happiness, loneliness, but ultimately a desire for life and the fight to keep living. It’s a collage of what’s been lost and of love unbounded.”

In support of the album The Mysterines will head out on a UK tour in October.  The tour will conclude with a huge hometown gig at Liverpool’s Olympia.

Earlier this year The Mysterines played a UK leg touring as main support to Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes and have also been announced as special guests to Bloc Party for their huge 20th anniversary Crystal Palace Park show on 7 July.  They will also be performing at a string of festivals over the summer including 2000 Trees, Y Not and Tramlines.
