The Horrors have announced a UK headline tour including a gig at Manchester’s New Century Hall. The Manchester gig is one of seven UK dates they will headline.
As well as the gig in Manchester, The Horrors will also perform in Birmingham, Brighton, Cardiff, Glasgow, Leeds and London.
News of the tour comes as The Horrors approach their 20th anniversary as a band. It also follows the release of their latest album Night Life. The album finds The Horrors with a new line up centred around the duo of vocalist Faris Badwan and bassist Rhys Webb. They are joined by Amelia Kidd (keys) and Telegram’s Jordan Cook on drums.
New album Night Life embraces The Horrors exploring new sonic territory. While demos began modestly in Webb’s basement flat in North London with the pair thriving on the immediacy of, as Faris describes, “shortening the distance between having an idea and expressing it”, the record truly took shape in LA under the guidance of producer Yves Rothman (Yves Tumor, Blondshell) before finishing touches were applied back in London along with guitarist Josh Hayward, with Kidd bouncing parts and production ideas remotely from Glasgow.
The overall feel of the album settled on weight, space, melancholy and euphoria. It’s an album which explores the places the mind goes to whilst the rest of the world is asleep.
