The Bar Stool Preachers have shared their new single, a reimagining of Flatlined, which will feature on their upcoming new EP.

Flatlined originally featured on The Bar Stool Preachers’ 2022 album Above The Static.  Now it finds new life through a reworked version.  As the band explain, “Flatlined was a track that wasn’t a single first time around, but it’s one that the fans across the world have adopted as a favourite. When we play it live, it’s deafening. Whether in this format or in the original it’s a track the band love, and this version is really striking, especially the play between the two main vocals.”

The single features on The Bar Stool Preachers’ upcoming EP Below The Static.  The six song EP features reimagined versions of tracks from their Above The Static album.  The EP opens with Doorstep and also features Call Me on the Way Home, Flatlined, All Turned Blue and Laptop before closing with Don’t Die Today.

The concept lead The Bar Stool Preachers to explain, “For this release, we really wanted to highlight how good the songwriting was. We were stoked with how well the album went down but we really wanted to expose some of the more vulnerable elements and fuck with the format a bit. To hear such strong fxmale vocals, and having heavy guitar riffs on cellos/violins etc. really got us excited about these songs again. Some of the versions are stripped right back to just a voice and one instrument. It’s the band like you’ve never heard it before, and really breathes a different life into the songs.”

The Bar Stool Preachers release new EP Below The Static on 13 September 2024.
