The Aces have shared You Got Me, the third single from their upcoming album Gold Star Baby. Described by the band as a warm and shimmering track about early love, the song features a heartfelt chorus that captures vulnerability and excitement.
“This song is about that short and sweet period of time when you realize you’re in love but you’re not sure how to tell them,” the band said. “We wanted it to sound like the feeling of falling in love; warm, shimmery, bouncy and a little bit of nerves.”
Gold Star Baby is The Aces’ fourth studio album and promises a sonic and personal shift for the Utah quartet. Rooted in disco-pop and self-produced by the band, the album will channel themes of queerness, identity, and liberation, positioning itself as a celebration of self-expression. It follows their 2023 release I’ve Loved You For So Long, which explored the process of self-discovery. With Gold Star Baby, The Aces focus on the empowered joy of becoming the best version of themselves.
The album introduces a fictional club—open to anyone who knows where to look—that embodies the spirit of the record: late-night energy, connection, and celebration. Tracks like You Got Me, along with prior singles Jealous and The Magic, lay the foundation for what promises to be a glitter-soaked, emotionally resonant release.
