South Arcade and finishing the year with the release of their debut six track EP 2005.  The band will headline a Manchester gig at Manchester Academy 3 in March.

2005 features South Arcade’s previously shared singles stone cold summer, MOTH KIDS, HOW 2 GET AWAY WITH MURDER as well as the new unheard title track.

The new single was penned by the band, with production from guitarist Harry Winks and mixing from the multi-platinum and multi-Grammy Award winning producer Rich Costey.  Speaking about the track and its inspirations, South Arcade said, “It’s a well known fact that we love the 2000s and are heavily inspired by the music and culture of that time. We wanted to have a song that captured that idea of bittersweet nostalgia but in a fun way, and that sounds like it’s transporting you back to that era whilst comparing it to the chaos of how life can feel now. We hope the track can give other people the nostalgic escapism that it does for us.”

Meanwhile, they added about the EP, “It’s really exciting for us to now have a real body of work out into the world that captures the universe we are trying to create with South Arcade. This last year has been a whirlwind and seeing how many people have been resonating with our music has been incredible. We wanted to have the whole EP wrapped up with ‘2005’ before we head into 2025, and to give our fans a taste of what’s to come!”

When do South Arcade headline at Manchester Academy 3?

South Arcade headline at Manchester Academy 3 on 13 March 2025.  The Manchester gig is one of two dates they have announced:
13 March   –   Manchester, Manchester Academy 3
14 March   –   London, KOKO

Given the Manchester and London dynamics the dates have been dubbed South Arcade vs North Arcade. The official video for HOW 2 GET AWAY WITH MURDER first saw North Arcade and South Arcade encounter each other. The video introduces North Arcade, the alien imposter band from the future, who want to replace South Arcade in the present day to make their sound more futuristic, instead of their Y2K influence. In a fun spin, the two headline shows are intended to be the rematch.
