Sarah Kinsley has announced a run of UK and Ireland tour dates including a Manchester gig at Band on the Wall.
The Manchester gig is one of five UK and Ireland dates Sarah Kinsley has announced.
News of the tour comes as Sarah Kinsley reveals details of her debut album, Escaper, which lands in September.
To co-incide with the announcement the pop singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist has also given the first taste of Escaper in the form of new single Last Time We Never Meet Again.
Sarah Kinsley collaborated and co-produced the 12-track album alongside Grammy-Award winning produced John Congleton. The approach marked a change from her previously self-produced EPs. As she explains, “One realization you have eventually as an insular, more introspective person is that there’s a world outside of yourself waiting for you to look into it. I had made every single EP from scratch, in the sweetness of my apartment… This record was meant to be grand and unstoppable. A beginning descent into freefall. Why protect that feeling in solitude? Why not invite another into that journey?”
Earlier this year, Kinsley opened for Mitski in the US, following support slots with the likes of Weyes Blood and Sylvan Esso.
Born in California, and raised in Connecticut before moving to Singapore with her family during middle school and returning to New York for Columbia University. She was creating much positive noise and conversation online long before she had signed a record deal. Everything she was putting out was home-spun; self-produced, self-written and self-performed as well as being documented online to a feverish audience.
