Pale Blue Eyes will bring their latest album New Place to their Manchester gig at Gorilla this spring as part of their upcoming UK tour. The band will perform at several venues across the UK following the release of their third studio album earlier this month.

The trio—now based in Sheffield—recently unveiled New Place, their third full-length album, through their own label, Broadcast Recordings. The record reflects major life changes for the band, including a move from South Devon to Sheffield following personal loss. Drummer and synth player Lucy Board explained, “Change is a theme throughout the album. It’s about being in a new place, starting again but reflecting on the journey and what and who got us to this place. It’s a celebration of making it to this point and starting again.”

Frontman Matt Board also spoke about the album’s themes and artwork, stating, “The new album comes with a new landscape. I hope the result is uplifting. The album reflects the end of an era and embracing new beginnings. But when we were unpacking in our new house in Sheffield, we found an old slide projector that had belonged to my mum and dad. We spent hours looking through the old 35mm slides and decided to use one for the album cover. The album arrives on the back of extensive and emotional transit, a record of time reflecting on a lifetime of memories – but now beside a world of new beginnings.”

The album follows an extensive European tour with Slowdive, during which Pale Blue Eyes performed across 12 countries. New Place features guest vocals from Racheal Swinton of Glasgow electronic-rock duo Cloth and was produced by the band before being mixed and mastered by Dean Honer.

Pale Blue Eyes will now embark on a UK tour throughout April, performing at venues across the country, including London’s Islington Assembly Hall, Bristol’s Thekla, and Leeds’ Brudenell Social Club.  They will headline a Manchester gig at Gorilla.
