Nina Nesbitt has shared her take on the Scottish classic Caledonia as she prepares to perform on BBC Scotland’s Burns Night celebrations.

Caledonia was originally written by Dougie Maclean in 1978.  Now Nina Nesbitt is releasing her own version of the track which has previously been covered by Paolo Nutini, Amy Macdonald, KT Tunstall and Nathan Evans.

Speaking about how much the track means to her, Nina Nesbitt explained, “As a Scot currently living far away from home, ‘Caledonia’ is a song that means so much to me. It instantly transports me back to the place I grew up and reminds me how proud I am to be Scottish. It’s an honour to finally cover this song and share my own version, as so many Scottish artists have done in the past.”

Nina Nesbitt’s Caledonia is accompanied by a lyric video featuring Nina Nesbitt performing to a backdrop of natural scenery.

In 2024 Nina Nesbitt released her latest album Mountain Music.  The album received a string of critical acclaim, and charted number one in the Official Folk Album Charts.  The album is nominated for Album of the Year as the upcoming Americana Music Awards UK and track Pages is nominated for Song of the Year.
