A new music showcase launches at Manchester’s Deaf Institute later this month courtesy of New In The Neighbourhood.
The first instalment of the event takes place at the end of the month featuring three up-and-coming artists offering a chance to catch some of the best rising talent in the industry. The opening instalment features a curated lineup of female R&B, pop and indie artists with Akemi Fox, Isabel Abbott and Sinead Ashiokai.
R&B artist Akemi Fox draws on a distinctive voice, lyrical ability and a 90s/00s nostalgic sound. Since the release of Lemon Tea, Akemi has found herself on the path to success. She is now continuously supported by Amazon, Spotify & Apple Music and has her releases placed on several playlists.
Isabel Abbott is a 23-year-old singer-songwriter-producer who blends modern R&B with elements of Pop, Soul and Jazz. Born in Spain, she started gigging at the age of 16 at jazz bars in her hometown Valencia. As soon as Isabel turned 18, she came to the UK to study at BIMM Birmingham followed by BIMM Manchester. In 2024, she achieved global recognition for online performances.
19-year-old soul-pop songstress Sinead Ashiokai has taken the music industry by storm. Recently blowing up on TikTok she has signed to Island Records. She is currently working on her debut album and collaborated with Maverick Sabre and Rag and Bone Man.
