Man/Woman/Chainsaw have shared their latest single MadDog, the second half of a special AA release.  The new single continues to put the band on an upwards trajectory following the success of their critically-acclaimed debut EP Eazy Peazy in November and a standout performance at SXSW in March.

The band will headline at Salford’s The White Hotel later this year.

MadDog follows Adam & Steve, a sprightly indie-pop track currently playlisted at BBC 6 Music. Both tracks were recorded with producer Seth Evans (Geordie Greep) and Margo Broom at RAK Studios. The band’s bassist and vocalist Vera Leppänen shared insight into the new single’s themes, explaining, “MadDog talks about losing a friend and watching them become everything you thought they wouldn’t. We wrote the song as two parts, the pissed off bit and the sad/nostalgic bit, and recorded it with a quick turnaround which was fairly new to us.

The release arrives ahead of a limited 7″ vinyl of Adam & Steve / MadDog, set for release on 23 May through So Young Records, with a secret show planned the night before. An exclusive version of the 7″, paired with a print, will also be available through Rough Trade.

Man/Woman/Chainsaw have built a reputation for their unpredictable and energetic performances. Since their debut at just 16 years old, the band has earned strong media and tastemaker acclaim.  Their breakthrough arrived with the 2023 release of What Lucy Found There, and the band celebrated their 100th gig at the end of last year.

Reflecting on their dynamic approach to songwriting, vocalist and guitarist Billy Ward described the band’s creative process: “We thrive on the thin line between pretty and noisy, often trying to jump between the two – it’s that chaos that excites us.

Man/Woman/Chainsaw are set to perform across the UK and Europe throughout 2024, with dates confirmed at The Great Escape, Bearded Theory Festival, Boomtown Festival, Reeperbahn Festival, and many more.  They will also headline at Salford’s The White Hotel in November.
