Leonie Jakobi delivers a message of self-worth with gritty new track I Deserve To Shine
Leonie Jakobi has released her latest single, I Deserve To Shine, a bold anthem of self-empowerment blending classic rock influences with a modern edge. The track highlights her dynamic vocal presence and uncompromising attitude, solidifying her place as an emerging force in the music scene.
Driven by soaring melodies and a raw, unfiltered energy, I Deserve To Shine captures the defiance of an artist unwilling to be diminished. The song blends bluesy riffs with heartland rock, channelling the rebellious spirit of past and present icons.
“In this song, I’m taking a feminist stance, and calling out the way some people are drawn to a woman’s radiance only to try and control it,” Leonie Jakobi explains. “My message is loud and clear: happiness is something you fight for, and no one has the right to take it away.”
Alec Brits produced the track, while Leonie Jakobi wrote it entirely on her own. It previews what’s ahead on her upcoming debut album. She recorded much of the project in Nashville with producer and musician Arielle, who utilized vintage equipment to create an authentic rock sound.
Originally from Frankfurt and now based between there and Liverpool, Jakobi draws influence from artists spanning multiple generations. Her music, rooted in personal experience and a fearless approach to storytelling, has gained recognition across radio and live venues alike. With previous releases already making waves, ‘I Deserve To Shine’ marks the next chapter in her journey—one where she refuses to be anything less than luminous.
