Kingfishr have confirmed that they will release their debut album Halcyon in August. They will head out on a headline tour in support of the album in November. The November run includes a Manchester gig at the Albert Hall.
Halcyon will feature Kingfishr’s latest single Diamonds & Roses. It’s a track that Kingfishr’s Eddie Keogh explains, “is about how much things change. It’s about the death of the status quo and the price we all pay for that. It’s about the terror of existence, but in spite of that it’s about the good that shines through.”
The album charts Kingfishr’s journey as a band, from their breakthrough favourites Flowers-Fire and Eyes Don’t Lie through to recent highlights Killeagh, Gloria and Man On The Moon.
Speaking about the album, the band said, “Halcyon is the culmination of three years’ work, though most of the time it hasn’t felt like it.
“We grew up in different parts of rural Ireland though the band itself was born on a dairy farm in Tipperary. The songs were written in a small kitchen where generations of farmers became singers and storytellers when the work was done. The name ‘Halcyon’ is a nod to the landscape and heritage that has moulded our music, even though the songs don’t all come from a happy or peaceful place.
“We’re so proud of all of this. Thank you for being a part of it. On and up!”
Kingfishr release Halcyon on 22 August 2025.
