KillerStar have shared a live performance of the T-Rex classic Children of the Revolution.
The track took shape as the band returned to London’s 100 Club for two sold-out shows with a band filled with David Bowie’s most trusted collaborators. As cries of “one more song!” filled the room, KillerStar delivered a rendition of the T-Rex anthem.
As well as the live recording, KillerStar have also shared a video of that moment.
Speaking about the track and performing it at The 100 Club, KillerStar vocalist and guitarist said, “The atmosphere was electric for our two live shows at The 100 Club. They were special nights! After playing our set of original material we thought it would be great to play an encore of this T-Rex classic song ‘Children Of The Revolution’. It was a thrill to have long-time David Bowie band members reunited on stage together for the KillerStar set and this T-Rex tune.”
Featured on the track are KillerStar’s Robert Flemming, Earl Slick (lead guitar), Mike Garson, who delivered a psych-rock keye solo, drummer James Sedge. The performance was completed by bassist Mark Plati (co-producer of Bowie’s ‘Earthling), guitarist Kevin Armstrong (Bowie, Tin Machine), keyboardist Dom Beken (Nick Mason’s Saucerful of Secrets), saxophonist Simon Bates (Elvis Costello), and backing vocals from Gail Windrass and Simone Browne (whose combined credits include Elton John, Benjamin Clementine and Joss Stone).
Robert Fleming and James Sedge have recently been in Metropolis Record in London working on the second KillerStar studio album. Their collaborators so far have included Earl Slick, Mike Garson and producer Dave Eringa (Manic Street Preachers).
