James Arthur has shared his latest single Celebrate, the second release from his upcoming album PISCES.
Celebrate lands after the success of his November release ADHD. The new single explores his journey from a difficult upbringing through to self-realisation and growth.
As James Arthur explains, “There’s been many times over the course of my life where I’ve lost the ability to live in the moment or I’ve been in a room full of people yet somehow I still felt alone. We’re always striving for more and we forget to exercise gratitude for the things that we do have or have achieved and therefore we fail to enjoy those special moments. People often tell me I should celebrate more but the truth is I’m not very good at it so I wrote this song about that very thing. I hope it makes you feel something.”
The emotional track features lyrics which address the challenge direct. “I’ve come a long way from nowhere” he sings, “I’ve given up on friends of mine, ‘Cause when I needed friends, they weren’t there. A phone call could’ve saved my life… I don’t wanna hate myself no more.”
Sixth studio album PISCES promises to explore vulnerability, mental health and self-acceptance whilst adopting a more experimental sound filled with dreamier soundscapes and a more subdued style.
James Arthur will release PISCES on 21 March 2025.
