Ingrid Andress has shared her new stripped back acoustic single Catch 22, which looks at a failing relationship.

The new single finds Ingrid Andress playing with the catch 22 concept to describe being in a relationship with someone who can’t seem to grow up and still chasing the feeling of being 22.

Speaking about Catch 22, Ingrid Andress said, “Catch 22 is a song about trying to grow in a relationship that you’ve already outgrown. Love is not for the faint of heart, especially when it’s up to you to leave it behind. The song takes place in a relationship because it’s commonly the place we see it happen the most. At one point or another, we’ve all found ourselves in relationships where we love and care for someone that no longer fits. We stay and hope they will change because who doesn’t want someone to love and be loved by? And it’s never really ‘that bad.’ Until one day you wake up and want a beautiful life that’s much more than not ‘that bad’ and the only person who can change that is you.”

The new single and recent release Footprints mark Ingrid Andress’ first new music since her 2022 album Good PersonGood Person and her debut collection Lady Like have exceeded 1.5 billion streams, leading to two Grammy Award nominations and a double-Platinum #1 single in the shape of More Hearts Than Mine.

They are the first tracks to emerge from a new period of songwriting for Ingrid Andress.  Her current songwriting inspiration comes from the growth that has come with her recent experiences: the learning and confidence that comes after facing her struggles and emerging from it all the better.
