Harriet will release her new album Trying To Get The Feeling Again in October, featuring reimaginings of classics as well as two original tracks.
The album finds Harriet celebrating the ‘70s with reworkings of classic songs from the likes of The Carpenters, Carole King and Barry Manilow. It lands ahead of a string of tour dates across the early part of 2025 including a Manchester gig at Sale’s Waterside.
The roots of the album are in Harriet’s love of the era and a personal rediscovery and reconnection with the songs which first inspired her.
As she explains, “This album is a celebration of my love of music from the late 1970s and the songs that have shaped me as an artist and performer. I have been longing to reconnect with my musical roots and ‘Trying To Get The Feeling Again’, both the album and live show have given me the opportunity to embrace parts of myself and my sound that I’m excited to share. I hope people discover in the album a sense of comfort and nostalgia and are able to experience again any feelings that they thought had been lost. I think this is something we are all craving right now… to get the feeling again.”
Alongside the reworkings the album will also feature two original tracks – Silent Disco (co-written with Anders Hansson) and Mountain written alongside Steve Anderson and John Bettis who wrote many of The Carpenters’ hits.
Harriet will also be heading out on tour in the new year with North West dates at Sale’s Waterside and Liverpool’s Philharmonic Hall.
