Courtney Hadwin has shared her latest track D.N.A. which features on her upcoming debut album, Little Miss Jagged, which is set to drop on 12 September. The funk-driven track embraces the chaotic energy of obsession with a playful twist.
D.N.A. brings a fresh sound to her repertoire. It follows the raw blues-rock of her earlier work and delivers a groove-laden, unpredictable ride, brimming with funk and soul influences. Courtney Hadwin wrote the track with Grammy-winning producer Kevin Bowe.
Speaking about the track, Courtney Hadwin said, “D.N.A. is probably one of the most fun songs I’ve written. It has no real song structure and it really captures the thoughts and feelings that come with the obsessive nature of a crush but filled with humour, but still carrying that funk and soul throughout the song.”
Courtney Hadwin’s is set to release her debut album, Little Miss Jagged, in September. The album promises to put the full spectrum of her musical influences and tastes on full display, veering between classic ’60s R&B balladry, punchy pop-punk, and unpredictable swagger. The album is available to pre-order in digital format, as well as limited edition black vinyl and digipak CD, with all physical copies signed by the artist.
Over the past two years, Hadwin has steadily built towards this moment with a string of original singles, including That Girl Don’t Live Here and Monsters, alongside well-received covers of Harry Styles, Lewis Capaldi, Lil Nas X, and Jonas Brothers.
To celebrate her album rollout, Courtney Hadwin will headline Fiddler’s Elbow, London, on 30 May 2025. The gig will see her performing alongside her live band.
