Courtney Hadwin has released her latest single, Die And Stay Pretty, ahead of her debut album Little Miss Jagged. The album lands ahead of a Manchester gig at Gullivers.
Co-written with Grammy-winning producer Kevin Bowe, the single explores the impact of witnessing someone spiral into self-destruction. Referencing icons like The Velvet Underground and Echo & The Bunnymen, Courtney Hadwin blends a husky, blues-tinged tone with a layered emotional narrative.
Hadwin said, “Die and stay pretty was a song that just needed to be wrote. I was in a situation where I was watching someone let substances take over their life and it was starting to create a negative energy around me. Die and stay pretty is a very different song to what I normally write and we used a very euphoria sound to pass on feelings to the listeners.”
Little Miss Jagged marks the next stage in Hadwin’s musical evolution, bringing together previously released singles like D.N.A., You Only Love Me When I Lie, and Spellbound. Each showcases her distinct vocal approach—ranging from funk and neo-soul to pop-punk—and forms part of a broader 15-track collection set to introduce her full capabilities as a songwriter and performer.
