Following the release of his latest album Paradise Pop. 10, Christian Lee Hutson brings his UK tour to Manchester’s Deaf Institute.

The Manchester gig lands towards the end of a run of European dates which have taken him through Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Germany, Belgium, Netherlands, France and Poland.

Paradise Pop. 10 is Christian Lee Hutson’s first release since 2022’s Quitters.  That album, produced by Phoebe Bridgers and Conor Oberst won widespread praise as the follow up to his 2020 debut Beginners.

Now Paradise Pop. 10 has found Christian Lee Hutson again working with the four time Grammy Winner Phoebe Bridgers along with Grammy-nominated songwriter and producer Marshall Vore and Grammy-nominated engineer & multi-instrumentalist Joseph Lorge. The album also features guest vocals from Bridgers, Katy Kirby, and Maya Hawke.

For the album, Christian Lee Hutson sought to look forwards.  “I wanted to make an eyes up record. A looking forward record” he explains.  This prompted a move to the East Coast, with New York providing fresh impetus.  Los Angeles had become haunted to him, filled with melancholy.  Instead New York and the Brooklyn Figure 8 Studio provided fresh perspective and the opportunity to look ahead.

The album title was inspired by a real life ‘town’ in the woods of Parke County Indiana.  It was near here, where Hutson spend some of his childhood.  The town comprised of just 5 houses on one side of the road and a cemetery on the other.  Paradise Pop. 10 doesn’t wallow however.  Key track Beauty School sums up fleeting moments of summer and features Katy Kirby on backing vocals.  The album features folk and pop; it’s at times rousing and defiant.
