Casey Lowery has shared his latest single Blood Related which features on upcoming EP Lekkerland.
The new single marks the follow up to Casey Lowery’s Low Mood Season which landed at the end of 2024. The single picked up strong support from BBC Introducing and radio plays around the globe.
Now, Casey Lowery is back with his new release Blood Related. Speaking about the track and his take on what family is he explained, “Just because someone isn’t blood related doesn’t mean they can’t be family. It’s about love and acceptance like a brotherhood. It’s about inclusion, protection and friendship. It also tries to highlight how little you know about emotion until everything around is taken away and how a change in circumstance forces you to adapt and make new decisions.”
Blood Related will feature on Casey Lowery’s upcoming debut seven-track EP Lekkerland. The indie artist will release the EP on 28 March. The EP aims to represent an idea of utopia, place, feeling and emotion, leaning on the South African slang for all things good and positive. “Lekker is Afrikaans slang for something that’s good” he notes. “I work hard to surround myself with people and things that I like and to build a good life; spending time with friends and family, my dog Bud, I surf whenever I can and I had a custom board made up with Lekkerland written across it which is at the centre of the EP artwork with a bunch of other things that mean a lot to me. Lekkerland.”
