Blue Violet have shared their new single Sweet Success.  The track features on upcoming album Faux Animaux which lands on 24 January.

Sweet Success sees the alt-indie duo addressing the search for achievement in a commercial cut throat world.  As they explain, “What that means in this day and age is the price we pay for striving for those dizzying heights. The “sess, sess, sess” sample at the beginning was programmed to sound robotic to give the feel that we’re all mindlessly following the same goal without stopping to question why we want it so badly, and the assumption that, once we achieve it, it will make us happy.”

New album Faux Animaux finds the duo of vocalist Sarah McGrigor and guitarist Sam Gotley, continuing to explore electronic music inspired by Anna Calvi, St Vincent, Radiohead, Bowie and Twin Peaks.  It also promises grunge, rock, glam and dark 80s electro-rock.

The album lands after they spent 2024 releasing a string of singles including the one-off Human After All in March and album tracks Boogie Shoes, Imagine Me, Survival, Barefoot On The Seine and Fire.

Faux Animaux features Blue Violet taking on themes from takes on the Paris riots to the basic instinct of desire and frustration.

Blue Violet recorded Faux Animaux with Bat For Lashes and Hannah Peel mixer and producer TJ Allen.
