As the 2024 Beyond The Music festival and conference fast approaches, organisers have revealed 70 new artists for the music line-up. As well as the additions to the music programme, they have also confirmed further speakers, summits, keynotes, networking sessions and more.
The music side of Beyond The Music will now feature more than 200 grassroots artist performances across the Northern Quarter. The genre-spanning stages will be curated by the likes of BBC Introducing, SXSW, Manchester Pride, Secret Garden Party and more.
Amongst the new artists confirmed are a string of Manchester-based musicians including Yasmin Coe, Prido, Charlie Cooper and Harriet Dagnall. In fact more than 25% of the line-up features artists from the North West.
Speaking about the process of selecting artists for the three-day event, Beyond The Music founder Oli Wilson explained, “Our festival is all about supporting the new wave of music talent. We haven’t booked headliners, we’ve selected this lineup with an amazing range of curators and also from several thousand new artists that applied to play this year.
“From going through that process and booking the festival it seems like there is a revolution pending in music and we’re really proud to be able to give a platform to this new generation of musicians. The talent isn’t just in one genre, it’s in every genre, and we’re representing that diverse mix of music and people in the festival.”
As well as the music, the Beyond The Music conference will hold a series of summits, keynotes, networking sessions, talks and announcements at Aviva Studios. The programme is set to feature voices from across music, tech and content addressing subjects including AI in music; copyright; mental health; music in video games and more. Speakers at the event will include Tony Harlow (Warner Music), Grace Blakeley (Economist/Author), Tom Gray (The Ivors / Gomez), Gemma Vaughan (AO Arena), Dr Jo Twist (BPI), Kara Mukerjee (Warner / Restore the Music), Dr Diljeet Bhachu (Musicians’ Union) and more.
