Better Joy (aka Bria Keely) has announced the release of her debut EP Heading Into Blue.  The EP lands ahead of a Manchester gig at Night & Day.

The Manchester gig is one of eight UK shows Better Joy will headline.  The tour opens at Glasgow’s Garage with further dates including London’s Old Blue Last and Bristol’s The Louisiana.

The six-track EP presents a mix of introspective lyrics and gritty instrumentation. Produced by Mike Hedges, it features previously released songs Waiting on Time, Carnival, and What a Day, along with two new tracks, Couldn’t Run Forever and Can I Land the Plane? The latest single, Quiet Thing, offers a reflective take on the quieter moments that shape relationships. Speaking about the track, Bria Keely said, “’Quiet thing’ is one of those songs that has taken on so many different lives since its original conception. I was originally inspired by someone close to me, who at the time was describing the quiet type of love he needed from his partner when going through a tough time. It got me thinking how important it is to not take the quiet moments in relationships for granted. I suppose I wanted to write an ode to those moments, but I didn’t want it to be sweet-sounding; I wanted the lyrics to be against music that had a bit of grit to offset the sweetness.”

Better Joy will support the new release with a headline tour across the UK and Ireland. The run includes a Manchester gig at Night & Day, which was upgraded from YES due to demand. The tour follows her support slots with Hard-Fi last year and marks her first headline dates.
