Electro-emo angst-pop trio Air Drawn Dagger have shared their new track Castle. An accompanying video will premiere tonight.
The trio will perform at Manchester’s RADAR Festival in the summer.
Castle has been produced by Neil Cennedy. The track finds Air Drawn Dagger inspired by the story of revolt and introducing a string of protagonists in the video. “Castle is the song of protagonists, The Martyrs,” comment Air Drawn Dagger. “It was inspired by a painting in Nottingham Castle depicting the night voting reform was shot down by the Duke in 1831. A mob set the whole castle on fire in protest. This video was an ambitious one for us, we wanted to create a world that felt bigger than ourselves whilst introducing you to as many characters as possible in less than four minutes. Opening with a cinematic drone shot of an on-foot chase, the entire video is full of immersive storytelling cut with frantic performance shots. By the end, we have witnessed how the chase came to be, the evolution of characters and even the death of a hero. The last shot eliminates any doubt that there will be a part 2 to this story…”
Following their sold-out show at The Leadmill last year, featuring a choir of ghosts, confetti, and a human sacrifice, Air Drawn Dagger have also announced their biggest show to date at Corporation, in their hometown of Sheffield, on Saturday 5th April, 2025.
When does RADAR Festival take place?
Manchester’s RADAR Festival runs from 4-6 July 2025 at the O2 Victoria Warehouse.
